Champions List

The Champions Listserv is for those whose primary focus is Show Fancier - Exhibitor for the American Cocker Spaniel, active or retired. We're here to share experiences and support those with the same focus as our own through open discussions. To date, our list of members not only live coast to coast in the U.S., but we have members in Canada, Brazil, South Africa, Australia, England and other countries. Our hope is to one day have members from many different countries, sharing this wealth of information among ourselves. This membership includes new fanciers and exhibitors all the way to retired fanciers as well as fancier/Judges.

To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the Champions Archives. (The current archive is only available to the list members.)

To post a message to all the list members, send email to champions@cockers.com .

In order to change your membership option (Digest, No Mail, Password, etc), you must first log in by giving your email address and membership password. If you don't remember your membership password, you can have it emailed to you by clicking on the Remind button on that page: http://www.cockers.com/mailman/options/champions_cockers.com

List Guidelines

This Listserv is for those of us whose Primary focus is Show Fancier/Exhibitor for the American Cocker Spaniel. We're here to share experiences and support those with the same focus as our own through open discussion. The opinions of the membership are not necessarily those of the owner/moderators of the list and we are not to be held liable for any misinformation that is quoted on this list. The List Owner reserves the right to terminate membership at any time without prior notice and without giving any reason, including any associated materials such as (and not limited to) material supplied to the Photo Gallery on Cockers.com. All posts are copyrighted by the author and one must get permission to pass this on, either in writing or verbal, prior to doing so. The Membership List is owned by the List Owner and cannot be reproduced for anyone else or for any other purpose, unless permission is first obtained from the List Owner. This includes published listserv addresses and names of listserv members.

This list is not for personal conflicts with another member; do that on your own time. As the List grew, we have decided that there should be a few rules which we need to adhere to in order to prevent the loss of unlimited usage. If not, eventually we might have to limit the number of messages sent out over the listserv. Please read carefully! File them for future reference. Be considerate, even if it means taking a little more of _your_ time.

#1. To "Post" to the list, please use the address (Champions@cockers.com). Your message will then go out to each and every member on the list.

#2. To "Reply" to an individuals' message, please use the membership list provided. This "reply" method is for response between individuals or simple one liners, "Congrats!" or "Me Too". Anything that is pertinent to the entire group, by all means use the listserv address. Remember to _delete_ a portion of the previous message that you are replying to! Use only a statement or two to refresh our memories.

#3. To "Forward" something over the listserv, please "delete" the excess info. We don't need to know who all received it before us. Especially those who get the "Digest", have to scroll down quite a lot already.

#4. Should a "heated" discussion arise between individual list members, one private warning addressed to each individual, should stop the discussion over the Listserv. A second warning will be the "final" warning. Any future incidence will be an automatic removal from the List. This is not to imply that we cannot have different views on any given subject, but we need to be respectful and tolerant of those who have different views than our own. This Listserv is made up of individual opinions. Use the individual membership list provided to carry forward any heated discussion.

#5. Tuesdays are "For Sale" days where items may be listed for sale on this day only.

#6. Attachments cannot be sent over the list as this puts too much of a strain on the server. This includes photos or attachments of ANY kind. In lieu of attachments, we have made another page on the Cockers.com web site where you may upload your own photos in the Gallery.

#7. Do not "post" a private email over the list without permission from the author of that private "post". In recapping a topic, please do not use the names and addresses of the original writers when including their posts.

#8. No naming of names (dogs or people), unless it is about you or your dog. Keep the topic in the abstract.

#9. Inappropriate language is not acceptable over the List. Any post can be written without explicit language.

#10. From now on, you will be doing your own changing of your own subscription. For this, you will need your password. It should be sent to you on a monthly basis, but if you need it, here is what you do to get it.
