Judges: Jeanette Lees
I was born into a 'doggy' family of Great Danes and Greyhounds. My
own, first show dog was a Great Dane. I soon developed a strong
interest in Borzois and Afghan Hounds. I bred and exhibited both of
these breeds for more than ten years.
I started with American Cockers shortly after they were introduced to
Australia. My first "yank" was purchased from a local breeder and was
followed by 3 imported US dogs. That was in the 1970's. I have
maintained my kennel of yanks as my first love in the world of dogs,
but along the way have also owned and exhibited German Short Haired
Pointers and Irish Setters. I believe my first hand experience with
all of these breeds has given me a valuable insight and wealth of
knowledge about spaniels, pointers and setters generally.
I have been licenced to judge for 3 years now and in that time I have
completed assignments at several of Melbournes major metropolitan
shows. I have also completed judging assignments in New Zealand at
specialty and all breeds shows.
I am now licensed to judge all Hounds and Group Specials.
I welcome the opportunity to judge as part of an ongoing education
process. Judging also gives me the chance to give something back to
the dog world and expand my network of friends around the world.
I give an unbiased opinion based on my evalution of breed type,
soundness and quality. I believe the best dog should win.
