Judges: Ronnie DeClerk

In 1999 I became AKC licensed to judge Cocker Spaniels, after the honor to Judge the 1999 American Spaniel Club National Futurity. I also judge English Cocker Spaniels, Labrador Retrievers and Golden Retrievers. As a judge, priority #1 is Breed-type as defined by the AKC standard- the dog must have all that the cocker was intended to be to perform its' function in the field- the correct silhouette both standing and moving, particularly side gait- is the defining element for me. At specialties, it is a thrill to find beautiful, promising puppies that show potential for tomorrows' great dogs, and an honor to go over the beautiful great dogs of today! I have tremendous appreciation for the work and dedication of so many breeders, and I love the chance to see what they are producing today! This is the future of our wonderful Cocker Spaniel breed!
